Dr. Sarah Hock has always been passionate about helping people. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, she was a biochemist. Spending time in the lab made her realize she craved hands-on ways to make a difference in people’s lives. Chiropractic and Sherman College totally lit up her passion for making a difference while staying true to her science roots. Dr. Hock graduated, sum cum laude, from Sherman, transitioning into fulltime practice before the desire to teach started. She came back to Sherman to teach in 2013 and has taught many classes while also being a Case Doctor in Sherman Colleges Chiropractic Clinic.
Dr. Hock has continued to learn and stay at the top of the chiropractic knowledge base, has completed her CACCP with the ICPA, an SOT Pediatric Certification, and is a FOCUS certified doctor and contributing faculty presenter for the FOCUS Academy. She has presented many times on both pediatric/perinatal care over the years.
Always pushing the boundaries, she’s constantly working on curriculum tweaks, mentoring interns, and spreading the good word about chiropractic care for kiddos and moms-to-be. Dr. Hock worked to develop a pediatric and perinatal concentration at Sherman College for students to deepen their understanding of care in these demographics. She stays connected with the community by partnering Sherman College with other non-profits, such as BirthMatters, to provide chiropractic care to the pediatric and perinatal populations of Spartanburg County.
Leading with her science background, Dr. Hock enjoys contributing to the profession through research and has published with interns and doctors alike. Her research interests range from general subluxation care to brain development and pediatrics care. Dr. Hock recently took the job as Chair of Pediatric and Perinatal Care at Sherman, where she is finishing the implementation of Sherman Colleges pediatric and perinatal concentration while also managing care with interns in the clinic.
Dr. Hock enjoys hiking, gardening, yoga, and reading. She maintains a private practice, Nest Chiropractic, but you will find her in her free time hanging out with her husband and two kids.
