Generational HEALTH with Dr. Paula Ruffin, DC – Chiro Hustle Podcast 237
Dr. Paula Ruffin’s career was forged from an early age by her mother’s influence of healthy eating and homemade meals. She has been an athlete her whole life which led her to study Exercise Physiology at The University of Michigan. During that time she worked in the U of M obesity clinic helping people with nutrition and weight loss. She spent 2 years working in the Domino’s Farms Corporate Wellness Center continuing nutrition and weight loss, but also added personal training and crafting incentive programs to help people achieve their health goals.
This led to working as a physical therapy assistant for 5 years while she attended post-graduate school, eventually finding her way to Palmer College of Chiropractic West, in San Jose, CA in 1995.
Dr. Ruffin has been practicing for 23 years. She added functional medicine to her practice almost 20 years ago when she realized that helping people make positive lifestyle and nutritional changes was pivotal for their overall health success. She attributes her love for public speaking to her father who was an Eastern Orthodox priest. She admired his charisma and ability to connect with people by speaking off the cuff and from the heart and has always had a strong desire to emulate that. Dr. Ruffin serves on her township board where she is involved in the structure and growth of the community and local businesses. She serves on the board of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, University of Michigan chapter, where she can help mentor young women, and she is the president of her homeowners' association board 6 years running. Her goal is to work and live in healthy and thriving communities and help create happiness and joy for everyone. She is on a mission to be the connector of her community and be top of mind for all things health, wellness, and business.
